Crossfit WoD: Presses

Today’s Crossfit WoD done in my garage gym:

  • Shoulder Press: 1-1-1-1-1
  • Push Press: 3-3-3-3-3
  • Push Jerk: 5-5-5-5-5

Felt strong after my warmup, but just didn’t have any shoulder strenght today.

My PR for Shoulder Press (1RM) is 185, so was expecting to get at least that today. But I didn’t get close. My total lifts were:

  • SP: 155-165-165-165-175
  • PP: 155-155-165-175-185
  • PJ: 135-145-155-155-165

My biggest weakness is my inability to rack the bar properly on my chest, with elbows in front of the bar. This means that I have to hold the full weight of the bar in my arms and supported entirely by my wrists. Until I I can bring the bar back down into a supported rack, I’ll continue to not reach my full strength potential on these lifts.

Cool Down:

3 rounds for time of:

  • 15 situps
  • 5 burpees
